Daily processing of instrument Daily Activity Plans continues with no problems. *********** CDHF *********** Nothing received. *********** FOT *********** REPORTING PERIOD This report covers 16 November 2002 (Orbit 61150, GMT Day 320) through 22 November 2002 (Orbit 61255, GMT Day 326). SPACECRAFT OPERATION The observatory is now in Forward Flight (Southern Hemisphere viewing) and is performing nominally under two-battery operations. The instrument operational changes were: INSTRUMENT OPERATIONAL CHANGES Instrument Time Orbit Comment SOLSTICE 324/1355 61219 POWER ON - FULLTIME SUSIM 325/1456 61235 POWER ON PEM 326/1347 61249 POWER ON A Reverse-to-Forward Yaw Around maneuver (number 114) was successfully executed in Orbit 61190 beginning 322/16:28:53Z and completing at 322/17:06:03Z on 18 November 2002. All instruments were in their off or standby mode (including HRDI and PEM). Due to the SA position at 269 degrees, the effective night length of the spacecraft after the maneuver was approximately 55.71 minutes. Post maneuver analysis of data indicate that during the Yaw Around, the end-of-night load bus voltage was 26.40 volts and the average depths of discharge (DODs) on Batteries 2 and 3 were approximately 20.27 and 19.57 percent respectively. The next (forward-to-reverse) YAW is scheduled for 18 December 2002 (DOY 352). The beta angle ranged between the angles of 08.9 degrees to 10.8 degrees for this report period. The beta angle is now increasing towards a maximum angle of 35 degrees on 04 December 2002 (DOY 338). Spacecraft battery 1, 2, and 3 performance monitoring continues. Battery 1 remains OFF the charge relay. Battery 2 and Battery 3 are currently maintaining greater than 23.6 V end-of-night (EON) load bus voltage. Battery temperatures are stable with a temperature delta between Battery 2 and Battery 3 of 0.94 to 1.28 degrees C. Additional battery performance data for each battery on 15 November and 22 November 2002 are provided in Appendix D. The clock error ranged from -21.1 to 10.8 msec during this report period. Clock rate adjustments are listed in Appendix C. All instrument and subsystem engineers were advised on the initial excursion of ALERTS or Out-Of-Limits conditions detected by the FOT for this report. A summary is listed below and the details of ALERT and Out-Of-Limits occurrences are listed in Appendix B. Anomaly Reports are included in Appendix E. The data loss calculations are no longer being supplied by Data Capture Facility (DCF). OTHER SIGNIFICANT EVENTS UARS SATELLITE OPERATIONS The FOT continues to monitor UARS' attitude following the UFLTR reinitialization on 13 November 2002. The reinitialization has shown lower residuals in the FSS and quieter gyro biases, but there are still minor attitude errors which are induced during each orbit. In an attempt to correct this behavior a new TAM alignment matrix was uplinked which has helped but not solved the problem. It may take several days to determine what is causing this disturbance. MEETINGS - None this report period. FUTURE SIGNIFICANT EVENTS The next UARS Yaw slew is scheduled for 18 December 2002 (DOY 352). This maneuver will be a Forward to Reverse Flight maneuver (Northern Hemisphere viewing).
